KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

We’re urgent care —
not an emergency room.

Our sole focus is pet urgent care — for the moments that need same-day attention but aren’t life-threatening. A couple of things fall outside what we do, and we’ll always point you the right way.

Preventive & routine care

Vaccines, wellness exams, and preventative mediation are best handled by your primary vet.

Hospitalization & surgery

We don’t admit pets for hospitalization or perform surgical procedures (i.e., spays/neuters).

FOR LIFE-THREATENING CASES, GO STRAIGHT TO AN ER
Difficulty breathing

or severe respiratory distress

Unconsciousness or collapse

unresponsive or fainting

Uncontrolled bleeding

that won't stop

Severe trauma

or broken bones

Non-stop seizures

or convulsions

For life-threatening emergencies, go to your nearest emergency veterinary hospital.

Not sure if it’s an emergency? Call us — we’ll help you decide where to go.

Possible poisoning?

For any poison-related emergencies, please contact ASPCA Poison Control first — call (888) 436-4435 or visit their website.

HOW CHECK-IN WORKS

Four steps. Less waiting room.

way less stress.

We worked out the kinks so you spend less time in the lobby and more time on the couch with your pet.

01
Create your pet's profile
Set up your pet in the EVS Check-In app or right from our website — it only takes a minute.
02
Tell us what's going on
Share your pet's symptoms and complete their health history forms — about 5 minutes.
03
Reserve your spot in line
Pick an arrival window to hold your place in the queue. It's a saved spot, not a fixed appointment, so you wait at home, not in the lobby.
04
Get the text, then head in
We'll text you when it's almost your pet's turn, and you should head into EVS Pet Urgent Care.
READY WHEN YOU ARE
Check in from your browser
Go straight to our web check-in — nothing to install. Create an account and add your pet’s profile once, and next time you can reserve your spot in just a few taps.
Or download the app
Prefer a tap from your home screen? Download the EVS Check-In app. Your account and pet profiles stay saved, so booking your spot next time is even faster.

LEADERSHIP

Meet Our CEO & Founder

Dr. Jordana Eisenstein, DVM

Dr. Jordana knew from a young age that veterinary medicine was her calling. She began volunteering at a local animal shelter when she was just 10 years old. After graduating from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005, she became a partner at a small animal hospital, where she discovered that her greatest joy was building environments where people and patients could thrive. When she sold her practice in 2016, she was struck by a profession that had lost some of its enthusiasm and respect, and decided it was up to her to be the change. Today, as Founder and CEO of EVS Pet Urgent Care, Dr. Jordana is on a mission to bridge the gap between general practice and emergency care, easing the burden on local veterinarians while making sure pets in need always have somewhere to turn. She lives in the northern suburbs of Chicago with her husband, three children, Maggie the dog, and Junior the cat.

THE EVS DIFFERENCE

Urgent care that puts your pet —
and your peace of mind — first.

Check-in from home
Save your spot online. Wait on the couch with your pet, not in a noisy lobby.
No surprises, ever
We walk you through the plan and your options up front — so you always know what's happening and why.
An affordable ER alternative
By focusing strictly on Urgent Care, we avoid the high overhead of a full ER—saving you on typical emergency visit fees.
Real-deal team
DVMs and pet professionals who chose urgent care because they genuinely love it.
Same-day diagnosis
In-house labs, X-ray, and diagnostics mean we can assess and start treating today.
Partnering with Your Vet
We're not trying to replace your primary vet. Full records go to them after every visit.

"First time at urgent care and we couldn’t be happier. We enjoyed the efficient (no wait) check-in and the thorough & compassionate care that day and telephone follow up the next day. Highly recommend!"
