At the Vet
  • Can I make an appointment?
We don’t take appointments, but you can reserve your place in line for same-day visits. EVS Pet Urgent Care is a walk-in clinic, so you’re welcome to come anytime during our open hours. To make your visit more convenient, we highly recommend that reserve your spot in line on from our website or through the EVS Check-In app. This lets you wait from the comfort of your own home—instead of the lobby—and you'll be notified when you're third in line so you know when to head to the clinic.
  • Do you take walk-ins?
Yes, EVS Pet Urgent Care is a walk-in clinic—you can bring your pet in anytime during our open hours without an appointment. However, we strongly recommend reserving your spot in line ahead of time by using our website or downloading the EVS Check-In app. This allows you to pre-register your pet, reduce wait times, and enjoy a smoother, less stressful experience for both you and your pet.
  • What are the clinic hours?
All of our clinics operate 7 days a week to serve you and your pets! For specific hours, please check your location’s page: 📍Northbrook, IL 📍Kissimmee, FL 📍Reno, NV 📍Niagara County, NY
  • How do I bring my pet in for urgent care at EVS Pet Urgent Care?
While EVS is a walk-in clinic, we highly encourage you to reserve your spot in line before arriving. The easiest way to do this is by using the EVS Check-In app (available for Apple and Android) or visiting our website. This lets you pre-register your pet, wait from the comfort of home, and receive a notification when it’s time to come in. Reserving a spot helps minimize wait times and creates a smoother, less stressful experience for both you and your pet. Walk-ins are always welcome, but checking in ahead is the best way to be seen quickly.

  • My pet is acting off, but I’m not sure it’s an emergency. What should I do?
If you're unsure, it's always best to bring your pet in for an evaluation. We can assess the situation and recommend treatment or referral to an emergency hospital if needed.
  • Do you have communication with my primary veterinarian?
Yes. After your pet's visit, we will send a detailed medical report to your primary veterinarian so they can continue your pet’s care.
  • What is the difference between an animal ER and urgent care?
The main differences between an animal ER and urgent care are cost, wait time, and the services provided. Animal ERs handle life-threatening emergencies like severe trauma, poisoning, or difficulty breathing and are open 24/7. They often have longer wait times and higher costs due to the critical nature of the cases they treat. Urgent care, like ours, focuses on non-life-threatening but urgent issues—such as minor wounds, ear infections, or allergic reactions—when your primary veterinarian is unavailable. Urgent care tends to be more affordable, with shorter wait times, but we do not hospitalize pets or perform surgeries.
  • Where are your clinics located?
