Dr. Monica grew up in Topeka, Kansas and is the oldest of her 5 siblings. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at an early age, but didn't want to say it out loud till she was sure it was possible! Her first job in the industry was cleaning kennels and walking dogs at a very small practice in her hometown. In college, she worked for a research veterinary parasitologist and discovered her love for cats. After finishing her undergraduate degree in Animal Science at Kansas State University, she continued on to veterinary school also at Kansas State, graduating in 2010. While finishing up her senior year of vet school, she met her husband, Tim. They moved to Chicago shortly after graduation, and have made the Northwest side of Chicago truly feel like home for the last 14 years. They have 4 cats - Kiwi, Wednesday, Hocus, and Helper.

Dr. Monica has practiced at various general practice veterinary hospitals in the Chicago area. She has also worked as a relief veterinarian, shelter veterinarian, and as a high-quality high -volume spay/neuter surgeon. She loves being in surgery and doing dentals! She is performing dentals here at EVS Pet Urgent Care of Northbrook and also filling in as a relief doctor when needed. You may also find her at Barb's Precious Rescue in Palatine, Wright-Way Rescue in Morton Grove, or Heal Veterinary Clinic in Chicago.
