Dr. Christopher Brown

Managing Veterinarian, EVS Pet Urgent Care of Niagara

Born and raised in Flint, MI, Dr. Christopher Brown served four years in the U.S. Army as an infantryman, stationed at Ft. Campbell, KY, and in South Korea. After completing his military service, he attended the University of Tennessee, earning a BS in Biochemistry, and went on to obtain his DVM from Ross University in 2005, finishing his clinical year at Kansas State University.

Dr. Brown came to Tonawanda, NY, in 2006, right out of clinics, and has worked at hospitals across Western New York. He began his career in general practice and later transitioned into emergency medicine. During his time working in the ER, he volunteered to perform spay/neuter surgeries at the local animal shelter, eventually becoming their inaugural shelter veterinarian. At the onset of COVID-19, Dr. Brown returned to general practice and quickly recognized the overwhelming demand on veterinary clinics. He saw a need for a solution that bridged the gap between general practice and emergency rooms, providing care for urgent but non-emergency cases. Urgent care is just what’s needed to strengthen the veterinary community, both in the eyes of the public by being able to get their pets to be seen and treated sooner, but also with the local veterinarians in lessening their loads to promote a better work/life balance themselves.

Dr. Brown is excited to serve Niagara County at EVS Pet Urgent Care of Niagara, where urgent care fulfills a need to strengthen the veterinary community, helping the public access prompt care and alleviating the load on local veterinarians.

Outside of the office, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with his wife, two kids, six dogs, eight cats, two frogs, an armadillo, and the occasional foster dog. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, playing guitar, and riding his motorcycle.
